PHILIPPA MARTIN - RESEARCH ASSOCIATE

"Positivity is important. It puts people around you at ease and makes you stand out."

Philippa Martin graduated Newbury Park High School in 2014, then transitioned to the University of Massachusetts – Boston, where she achieved a Bachelor’s of Science (BS) in Biology in 2020. During the pursuit of her degree, Philippa completed multiple internships at Moderna.

After graduating UMass Boston, she accepted a full-time position as a Research Associate in the Biological Science team. While being full-time at Moderna for two years, she has contributed to multiple high priority projects in a variety of venues. Some of these projects included mastering various enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) platforms, which include automated ELISAs, both using liquid handling systems and microfluidics.

Through her efforts, she has directly supported data collection that allowed for decision-making about Moderna’s drug product design strategies, including support for the current SARS CoV-2 vaccine (SpikeVax) and upcoming boosters.
