LOUISE STOLZ - PHD CANDIDATE (UCSD)

"Don't be afraid to change your career if you are not happy with what you are doing."

Louise, a first year PhD student in the neuroscience program at the University of California San Diego is in studying neuropsychopharmacology. (An example of this is that she will be working on a project which seeks to understand how THC and CBD influence cognition in a mouse model of bipolar disorder). She came to speak to the club on the 9th of December and shared many important pieces of advice, one of which is listed above in pink.

Louise offers a lot of information on the PHD process and what it is like, what testing on animals is like, and offers advice on getting a higher education in the sciences as a whole.
